It’s been a very good two weeks for me! Happy happy!
- Sunset farm. Man I love this place!
- Photo-a-day project. Here are some of my favorites:
- Emotional depth of cows: I love my cows and they certainly have personalities for sure. Henrietta is my playful troublemaker, but she’s a big sweetheart. Grace is my stoic, but she’s patient and calm. Dixie is my bully, Delilah is the quiet kid at the back of the room. Each is different, no doubt!
- The two little finches being pokey-nosey on the front stoop looking for…something? It’s hilarious to see them hopping and flitting around.
- Being kind to myself, in obvious ways.
- Not that this was a best moment, but this article is a good reminder of how people you surround yourself with influence the type of person that you become. Granted, I know I am guilty of some of these in my past, but in my goal to become a better person I’m making a conscious effort to be choosier about with whom I spend my time and energy.
- Also, I’m making an effort to cut down on distractions and having continuous partial attention in exchange for full attention and more meaningful engagement.
- Seemingly endless bountiful harvests
- I don’t care how many times they remake Superman, it’s still my favorite story and I’ll go see each and every one and enjoy the living daylights out of them.
- A little bit of R&R
- That moment when the storm reaches you, the wind picks up and blows refreshing cool and dry air in place of the muggy, oppressiveness that was.
- Super happy bright spot in my run, this sweet super happy puppy face!
- Running when it’s cloudy and cool and breezy, absolutely perfect!
- National Donut Day – Mother clucker (fried chicken on a donut), Town Lake Iced Tea (think Long Island, but local) and a Paradise City (key lime pie dessert donut) – and yes, I sung the song for our waitress.
- Quote du jour: “He’s a connoisseur of fried tube meat…”
- Another quote of the day: “I had some warm watermelon and rode the Gravitron thirteen times.” (After he came in overheated and hurled) Well, that explains it.
- FREEZEE POPS!
- Iron clad beetle on my porch, how cool!
- Cow pictures, because I can.
- Someone’s got a milk mustache (or more like milk entire-face)
- Big fat Wiko kisses
- Hot cowboys, bucking broncs, bleach blond hair, bling, ropin’ …hooyeah! Let’s rodeo!
- A beautiful night manning the EMS tent at the rodeo and carnival:
- Scary, exciting, take-your-life-into-your-own-hands, held-together-with-duct-tape-and-zip-ties carny rides!
- A really great day with my hubs, shopping, lunch, wandering around driving, coffee, snacks (acorn fed tamworth prosciutto, smokey blue cheese, why yes, I will!) and drinks.
- More newcomers to our farm, we hatched four little guinea peeps this past week!
-My sweet, sweet, favorite moon, looking so very, very fine hanging up there in the sky with that pretty and bright Venus nearby, all fingernail and earthshiny.
- I love the way the light filters through the fog, slanting through the trees on misty mornings. It’s hushed, muted, everything is dewy and looks like it’s covered in diamonds. A light breeze was blowing and rustled the fog-covered spidersilk; it waved and shimmered, a million tiny highway lanes in the grass, on the posts and fences, and through the trees. I stood outside for a long time soaking it all in, cherishing every single moment.
